The goals and objectives of this plan are to enhance not replace the recommendations of other island reports and plans.

The 41-81 D Master Plan will be designed to provide a basis for  the long-term physical development of Nantucket. This plan is a continuation and update of the Comprehensive Plan prepared by the NP&EDC between 1995 and 2001 and the Goals and Objectives for Balanced Growth prepared by the NP&EDC and adopted by a vote of Town Meeting on November 13, 1990 . The 41-81 D Master Plan will refine the goals of previous plans and develop proposals to implement them.
